Re-working the “Weedless” Continued

The “weedless” garden is coming right along! We’ve been moving a mountain of compost and will need several mountains of wood-chip mulch.

The compost looks so rich compared to the dirt in the beds. It’s hard to believe we added that much compost last year too! The plants use it all up so fast!

This year we are adding plastic-mulch to the beds. It will help keep the beds moist when the temps are 103 degrees outside! We will be adding wood-mulch to the paths as soon as it comes. And once May gets here we will add wood-mulch to the beds over the plastic-mulch. That will help hold it down, protect the plastic from the hot sun, and keep the roots of the plants cool.
